Ms. Qua and Mr.  Eric Miron

Meet the   principal and vice-principal

Covid Safety Measures

  1. Each classroom is given a zone to lineup and have collapsible cones to indicate classroom.

  2.  Parents are asked to stay outside of the school yard and that students should not be playing on structure. Parents are encouraged to say their goodbye at the fence and send their children into the school yard to line up.

  3. Students are to maintain 2 meters of distance whenever possible. (1 meter is our minimum goal inside the school)

    1. Students who are wearing masks should have them on before entering the school.

    2. Kindergartens will enter the school 5 minutes before the bell.

    3. There will be no patrols crossing students or on the bus until we have organized our groupings.

  1. Handwashing

    1. There are several hand sanitizing stations in the hallways when students come in.

    2. Students can use the hand sanitizing stations remembering that we still want to wash our hands with soap and water as much as possible.

                                                               i.      We are keeping in mind that some parents may not want their child to use hand sanitizer

    1. We are currently working on getting more sanitizing stations from the school division

  1. Cohorts and recess

    1. Each teacher shall get to know the kids in their cohorts

    2. Our golden rule is that we want to eliminate all cohorts crossing or meeting over the course of the school day.

    3. Within a cohort, it is expected that students will come into close contact with each other on occasion. That being said, we are still encouraging that students keep 2m apart as much as possible and 1m apart when 2m is not possible. They are still supposed to distance during recess as much as possible.

    4. We must encourage students to play alternate games during recess times. Ex: When students play soccer they are constantly bumping each other. Instead, they can practice skills like taking shots on the goalie (shootout challenge).

  1. Masks

    1. As per the provincial guidelines, students in grades 4 & 5 must be wearing masks in all common areas and when 2m of distance is not possible. This includes classrooms, recess, music and Phys.Ed. We recommend that teachers have all students keep their masks on as much as possible and only remove them for eating and drinking.

    2.  There may be times where it is important for teachers to remove their masks for teaching purposes. Teachers shall explain this to their students, that all people need to be at least 2m away from you and that teachers will be performing hand hygiene before and after removing their masks and teachers shall  put their mask back on as soon as possible.
